IXXAT's canAnalyser is a powerful tool for the development, maintenance and service of CAN systems. The powerful basic functionality of the canAnalyser, for analyzing, stimulation and interpretation can be extended by special modules for CANopen, DeviceNet and latterly J1939 based systems. The new J1939 module displays the received messages according to the SAE J1939 notation.

This includes the interpretation of received messages and the extraction of Parameter Group Number, Source Address and transmitted Suspect Parameters with SPN, SP name, value and unit.

Furthermore the Messages Priority, Data Page, Protocol Data Unit Format and Protocol Data Unit Specific Fields are displayed.

The J1939 module provides furthermore processing and interpretation of the transport protocol as well as the interpretation of diagnostic messages.

Proprietary application messages can be interpreted if a user defined database with Parameter Group and Suspect Parameter definitions is provided.

To clearly arrange displayed messages, it is possible to set filters for parameter group numbers and source addresses. Received messages can be saved into a CSV file. Furthermore, the filter and module configuration can be stored, imported and exported.
